Hótel Jökull is a family-run hotel, located in the vicinity of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. The scenery around the hotel is spectacular and many of the rooms have wonderful mountain views. It is well-positioned, right by Iceland’s ring road nr. 1. It is located 8 kilometres from Höfn í Hornafirði and 453 kilometres from Reykjavík.

Location
The community is molded by Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, and its creeping icefalls. The spectacular natural scenery is absolutely unique and surely it’s enough to point out locations such as Skaftafell, Jökulsárlón, Skálafellsjökull, Geitafell, and Lónsöræfi, which are located within short driving distances from Hotel Jökull.
The nearest town is Höfn in Hornafjörður. It is the hometown of the Icelandic langoustine and has a great variety of locally produced food that can be ordered of menus at restaurants in the region. In addition to the variety in local food, the clean and unspoiled nature is a hallmark of the Vatnajökull Region.
