Bed & Breakfast among the ducks.

Yes, that is the name of our Bed & Breakfast accommodation - an homage to the rich and unique composition of duck species roaming Lake Mývatn. Did you know that the Barrow’s Goldeneye breeds in no ther place in Europe?

Duck-fan or not, make yourself at home at comfortable Andabyggð in one of our double rooms with private bathroom and access to shared living room, kitchen and BBQ area. Breakfast is included, obviously. And may we recommend, on sunny days, that you enjoy your breakfast and morning coffee outside with the beautiful view of the lavafield. It is the perfect start to a new adventure day, if you ask us.

Sleep on the edge of a lava field

You have probably stayed in hostels all over the world, but you have never stayed in a hostel like this. Hraunbrún – the name of our hostel – means lava edge. Because you basically sleep right on the edge of Mývatn’s lava field.

It’s a no fuss kind of hostel: You just roll out your own sleeping bag (or rent duvet, pillow and linen as a self service option) in one of our 14 rooms equipped with two bunk beds and make yourself at home in the common kitchen and dining room.
Do we need to mention that the view of the lava field is amazing from the dining room?

Bringing the whole gang to Iceland?
Look no further than to one of the family rooms of Hraunbrún that accommodates 4-5 persons on bunk beds – single and small doubles.
