The houses are just below the roots of Hekla in the South, surrounded by natural pearls in all directions: Hekla, Landmannalaugar, Rauðufossar, Fossabrekkur, Þjófafoss, and Hjálparfoss are just some of the many beautiful places within walking and driving distance and the history of the South is on the grass.
The houses are 25 sqm in size and each of them is built like a studio apartment, where everything is in one, in one space, a bathroom is separate. Two comfortable armchairs, ideal for relaxation and sitting. A 32-43 inch TV is available and you can watch RÚV, Netflix, or YouTube. The kitchen is equipped with a small refrigerator, two-burner stove, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and the main utensils needed for cooking. There is plenty of tea and coffee on offer. It is possible to enlarge the kitchen table. The bed is made with good duvets and pillows, the bed is 160 × 200 cm and can accommodate two guests. The bathroom has a good shower, and towels and hand and bath soap are provided. Cleaning is included in the price of the accommodation.

Hotel Laxárbakki is located in Hvalfjordur, next to the salmon river Laxá.
It is conveniently located on highway one, just 14 km from Akranes and 22 km from Borgarnes. From here there is a short distance to and from the main tourist areas in the Southwest, where Húsafell, Langjökull-Glacier, Þingvellir, Hvalfjordur and Snæfellsnes are located. The unique birdlife in the area makes Hotel Laxárbakki a convenient base for bird-watching activities.
In addition to bird watching, there are also great hiking trails close by, such as Glymur, Akrafjall, Hafnarfjall, Skarðsheiði, Skessuhorn, Heiðarhorn, Síldarmannagötur as well as numerous other enjoyable and interesting areas to explore.
During the winter, when the conditions for the aurora lights to dance in the night sky are good, Hótel Laxárbakki is well situated in the country side to watch the northern lights in all their glory.
This property is at Skeiðflöt about 100 square meters of land only 10 minutes from Vík í Mýrdal. For centuries there have been farms at Skeiðflöt with animals, but nowadays we farm tourists, and one of the houses we call Farmhouse Lodge can accommodate more than 20 people, we welcome people every day to our place and you are free to stay as long as you like.
Every morning there is a breakfast buffet ready from 8-10 am. Farmhouse Lodge or Skeiðflöt is 14 km from the center of Vík í Mýrdal where there live about 400 people and only 250 meters from road number one. Guests have access to free parking and luggage storage while they stay at the Lodge. In Vík í Mýrdal there is a gas station, good restaurants, public swimming pool, bank, supermarket, and more services.
